In 1984 the AC name and tooling were taken over by Autokraft, a parts reseller and replica manufacturer. As a joint venture with Ford in 1987, they produced the MK IV Cobra with all of the original tooling and bucks (as well as some of the original craftsmen). It featured a 250 hp, 301.6 cubic inch Ford V8, with a top speed of 134 mph and an exciting 0-62 time of 5.2 seconds. The classic combination of European body over American engine is the ultimate thrill ride and has the unparalleled ability to put a smile on the faces of driver and passer-by alike.
