The 2 in 991.2 signifies the facelifted version of the 991 generation 911. Porsche introduced the facelifted version of the 991 with various styling cues to keep it more in trend with the vehicle designs of that time and it still to this day looks just as sharp and clean as it did when it was introduced in 2015. Porsche went away with a naturally aspirated flat and instead replaced it with a turbocharged thus evidently making all non-GT cars, turbocharged. Porsche engineered the Turbo S to be the most powerful Porsche that is not part of the GT division. This meant that even with nearly 600 horsepower, the Turbo S is still a more street-focused car rather than a track-focused car.
